"Be a dreamer & be a doer, find doctor jobs that are right for you"
I have worked in the medical industry for many years as a general practitioner. I have lived in various different countries and have loved every minute of it. Most recently I have been situated across Australia, in various hospitals and medical practices, GP Classifieds is where I find all my doctor jobs. I have been working as a locum GP (busy short stints wherever there is a need). This has allowed me to widen my perspective and to learn new skills and experiences which I probably wouldn't have achieved staying put in the one organisation.
It is easy to get stuck in a slow, boring and mundane routine that is energy zapping and unfulfilling. Sometimes you have to take a chance with a change of scenery. You never know what you may find... maybe a GP workplace that is exciting supportive and ultimately rewarding. That is what I found in working doctor jobs in Australia. I started in Cairns, then moved to Brisbane and am currently in the south of Sydney. I have had nothing but positive times and have made a bunch of friends along the way. Get out, explore and take a risk, you can do it. Explore the link I provided above and see if there are any destinations that interest you.
Australia is a beautiful country, the people are friendly, the weather is amazing and leisure and entertainment is phenomenal...there is so much to do and see. The work I do is tiring and non-stop yet it is rewarding at the same time. It was originally recommended by a friend that living in Australia provides a fantastic work/life balance, and boy were they right. The medical facilities are first-class, the practices and hospitals are fully-computerised and admin support is tremendous, giving me more time to focus on primary healthcare and less time doing boring and endless paperwork. At the end of the day the patients are my main priority and working in Australia has allowed me to focus on this. Accommodation is also wonderful, I live 5 minutes away from the beach and local shopping centre. I go for long runs before work in the morning along the esplanade. I would highly recommend considering moving over here to work as a doctor. If you have any questions feel free to contact me, I am more than happy to chat.
I am not sure where my next journey will take me, however I do know I will be visiting GP Classifieds to find my next medical position.
